Favorite Recipes

Everyone has their favorite dish, the people who your mother or grandmother, or create new ones that you have found yourself. Once you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you may feel that you will never be able to enjoy these foods again (or not without damage to health). But there are ways that you can change the old favorites from the family to maintain flavor, but reduce or eliminate the amount of sugar or carbohydrates in it.

For the majority of the substitutions that you will do to make your prescription, you are looking for ways to reduce fat content. Here are some standards that you can use. When your recipe includes:

* Whole milk, try replacing with 2% or 1% instead
* Whole eggs, try substituting with egg substitute or use 2 egg whites for each egg, contained in the prescription
* Sour cream, use low-fat cream or yogurt Plan
* To make chocolate cake try using cocoa powder mixed with vegetable oil (3 tablespoons to 1 tablespoon of oil will be equal to 1 ounce of chocolate)

In addition to the above proposals, always use low fat or light version of the product. Sometimes trial and error, you must get the recipe right, but try to make the end result is worth when you make a cake or other desserts that you love and diabetic environment.

In addition, you can purchase diabetic cookbook, full of desserts, so it will work with your diet. Thus, you can create a new favorite for you and your family love. I do not think that just because you have diabetes you can not be used in various foods. Keep trying new things, keep a close eye on your blood sugar to add new products to the growing repertoire.
